Soft Computing is a complex of methodologies that includes artificial neural networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic, Bayesian networks, and their hybrids. This book covers a wide range of application areas, including design, intelligent control, and signal processing. It is suitable for science and engineering postgraduate students.

Fuzzy theory has become a subject that generates much interest among the courses for graduate students. Chapters 5 and 6 are extensions of the fuzzy theory to the number and function, and Chapters 7 and 8 are developments of fuzzy properties on the probability and logic theories.

This book presents the results of the 5th International Conference on Computer Recognition Systems CORES'07 held 22-25 October 2007 in Hotel Tumski, Wroclaw, Poland. It brings together original research results in both methodological issues and different application areas of pattern recognition.
