The Kerma Moyen graves excavated at site P37 contained a classic assemblage ofpottery ofthat period, both local and imported. A brief comment on this pottery has previously been published (Welsby Sjostrom 1997), but this is the first time that all the eleven well-preserved grave groups are published.

Beginning in the early years of the 20th century numerous surveys have been undertaken along the Nile valley south­wards from Aswan. Reisner's work on the First Archaeological Survey of Nubia proved spectacularly successful and he formulated a cultural sequence from the A-Group in the 4th millennium BC into the recent past which has largely withstood the test of time.

The establishment of civilian and military Israeli settlements in the Hermon region necessitated further study, so a special team of researchers was set up under the auspices of the Golan Exploration Institute in Katzrin.

En este volumen se estudian las estructuras constructivas y el material mueble hallados del conjunto arquitectónico del Olivar de Castulo, Linares (Jaén) en la campaña de campo de 1971. Los resultados ya fueron publicados, y ahora se revisan. Fue subvencionada dicha campaña por la Dirección General de Bellas Artes, del Ministerio de Cultura. Al estudio de los hallazgos de la excavación arqueológica del año 1971 se han unido los procedentes del mismo yacimiento de las excavaciones efectuadas en 1985, 1986 y 1991, con subvención de la Comunidad Autónoma de Andalucía, Dirección General de Bienes Culturales.
