Daisy Evans and her twin sister Poppy are rehearsing for a ballet recital. The first one that Dad will actually be around for. As a US Navy sailor, he's gone frequently and has missed every recital so far. Can she overcome her disappointment? Will she perform anyway? Friends, family and teachers conspire to help her out.Because as military kids, Daisy and Poppy are never truly alone.
As D.L. prepares for the school spelling bee, can Daisy and Poppy support him to a first place trophy?
Daisy Evans just wants to show Dad her cast. But man! It can be hard waiting for him to return from his underway. As a military kid, Daisy is no stranger to having to wait for Dad to come home, but this is agonizing. Luckily the weekend is packed with activities to keep her distracted. Overrated Turkey Day and D.L.'s regional spelling bee are going to be great. But meeting Rose and Iris (ugh!) puts a damper on everything. Especially when Daisy and Poppy keep running into them. This third installment of Base Brats follows Daisy as she navigates the rough, sad, and sometimes overwhelming feelings of military life, and heck! life in general.
