These changes throw into question our understanding of capitalism and socialism, of the character of the nation state, and of the relationship between the economy and the state.

This is a collection of essays which were published between 1973 and 1985 in the CSE journals "Bulletin of the Conference of Socialist Economists" and "Capital and Class", publications which investigate, from a variety of viewpoints, fundamental categories of Marxian economics.
