A contribution to multiculturalism debates. It argues that the discourse of multiculturalism has been hampered by a focus on the political and social (secular) implications of multiculturalism, and this has led to a failure to examine diversity as existential and spiritual dimensions of humanity.

This text introduces discourse theory and responds to the triple-theoretical-methodological challenges. These challenges are right-wing bias, social science and discourse analysis. Focusing on world politics presented by the US media, it hopes that the concerns of the Other will be voiced.

This volume attempts to define the concept of dialogue and to indicate basic sources that can illuminate dialogue's potential, its limitations, and relevancy to communication theory.
