In a lifetime of more than eighty-two years, it has been a great privilege to meet many souls from different areas of the world, whom the Mother said would lead us into the New World. From the moment I met her in 1961, the Mother gave me the direction of my life; from that moment on, I was to meet very special souls who have touched my heart and poured their love on me.The Homages series is a tribute and grateful acknowledgment of those souls.I have already written of many of these in extensive articles. Many, but not all, were known to me as disciples and devotees of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Of all the special memories I have experienced in this life with those whom I have loved deeply, there is none to compare with Mary Helen. A being of such calm and grace combined with beauty, intelligence, and artistic inspiration, she was to me the epitome of woman, a soul to be treasured for all time and her love and devotion to her gurus, Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, was full of sincerity, devotion, and truthfulness. Homage to Mary Helen is a compilation of tributes from the many friends, disciples and devotees who loved Mary Helen and saw in her a true child of the Mother.
