Computational engineering (CE) is a relatively new discipline that addresses the development and application of computational models and simulations often coupled with high-performance computing to solve complex physical problems arising in engineering analysis and design in the context of natural phenomena.
At the dawn of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the field of Deep Learning (a sub-field of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) is growing continuously and rapidly, developing both theoretically and towards applications in increasingly many and diverse other disciplines. The book at hand aims at exposing its reader to some of the most significant recent advances in deep learning-based technological applications and consists of an editorial note and an additional fifteen (15) chapters. All chapters in the book were invited from authors who work in the corresponding chapter theme and are recognized for their significant research contributions. In more detail, the chapters in the book are organized into six parts, namely (1) Deep Learning in Sensing, (2) Deep Learning in Social Media and IOT, (3) Deep Learning in the Medical Field, (4) Deep Learning in Systems Control, (5) Deep Learning in Feature Vector Processing, and (6) Evaluation of Algorithm Performance. This research book is directed towards professors, researchers, scientists, engineers and students in computer science-related disciplines. It is also directed towards readers who come from other disciplines and are interested in becoming versed in some of the most recent deep learning-based technological applications. An extensive list of bibliographic references at the end of each chapter guides the readers to probe deeper into their application areas of interest.
This book summarizes the research findings presented at the 13th International Joint Conference on Knowledge-Based Software Engineering (JCKBSE 2020), which took place on August 24-26, 2020.
Chapter 1: Tuning Cooperativity of Calcium Activation in Cardiac Muscle.- Chapter 2: Application of Composite Smeared Finite Element Model in Drug Delivery inside Organs.- Chapter 3: Role of atomic and molecular non-observable properties in the understanding and description of real observables of the chemical systems.- Chapter 4: Effect of hip implant surface modification on shear stress distribution.- Chapter 5: Medical Image Processing using Xilinx System Generator.- Chapter 6: Computer Assisted Analysis of the Hepatic Spheroid Formation.
This book shares important findings on the application of robotics in industry using advanced mechanisms, including software and hardware.
This book discusses fundamental and high-level concepts relating to intelligent computing and communications in the context of distributed computing, big data, high performance computing and the Internet of Things.
This book focuses on the human emotion analysis aspects of HCI, highlighting innovative methodologies for emotion analysis by machines/computers and their application areas. This multidisciplinary book is useful to researchers and academicians, as well as students wanting to pursue a career in computational intelligence.
This book addresses many-criteria decision-making (MCDM), a process used to find a solution in an environment with several criteria. Accordingly, many current research efforts are focused on the implementation of biologically inspired algorithms (BIAs), which are well suited to solving uni-objective problems.
This book provides innovative ideas on achieving sustainable development and using green technologies to conserve our ecosystem. Innovation is the successful exploitation of a new idea. Through innovation, we can achieve MORE while using LESS. Innovations in science & technology will not only help mankind as a whole, but also contribute to the economic growth of individual countries. It is essential that the global problem of environmental degradation be addressed immediately, and thus, we need to rethink the concept of sustainable development. Indeed, new environmentally friendly technologies are fundamental to attaining sustainable development. The book shares a wealth of innovative green technological ideas on how to preserve and improve the quality of the environment, and how to establish a more resource-efficient and sustainable society. The book provides an interdisciplinary approach to addressing various technical issues and capitalizing on advances in computing & optimization for scientific & technological development, smart information, communication, bio-monitoring, smart cities, food quality assessment, waste management, environmental aspects, alternative energies, sustainable infrastructure development, etc. In short, it offers valuable information and insights for budding engineers, researchers, upcoming young minds and industry professionals, promoting awareness for recent advances in the various fields mentioned above.
This book introduces readers to some of the most significant advances in core computer science-based technologies. At the dawn of the 4th Industrial Revolution, the field of computer science-based technologies is growing continuously and rapidly, and is developing both in itself and in terms of its applications in many other disciplines.
