There is a clear and intentional onslaught against the spiritual 'gates'. This has been revealed by the Lord. This is not an attack for the 'now' but an attack that has always existed. This is an attack that is escalating, intensifying and becoming more vicious than ever before. It is an attack to lead people away from God, thus an attack to destroy the person. And we are talking here about the 'gate' - entry point - of nations, of cities, of homes, of families, and our very lives. A gate is a strategic point. It is a point of legally 'controlling' what goes in and goes out of the 'city'. The enemy is laying siege to gain entry, for once he has entered through the 'gate', he comes to steal, to destroy and to kill. The Lord has shown the enemy has come like an assassin, like a thief and as a destroyer. We need to guard the gates of our spirit, soul and body to abide in the Lord, in His truth and will. Only then shall we overcome the lies, the onslaughts, and the forces that seek to destroy us.
More than ever we live in the reality of 2 Thessalonians 2, which refers to the great falling away or rebellion. The Greek word translated "rebellion" or "falling away" in verse 3 of the Scripture is apostasia, from which we get the English word apostasy. It refers to a general defection from the true God, the Bible, and the Christian faith. In such perilous times of deception and spiritual corruption, a great need exists to seek the Lord, follow His will, obey His truths and follow His narrow path of holiness. To restore the altar is to be a living sacrifice in service of God - a servant who will not compromise with the world and seeks only to glorify God above all. it speaks about building one's life on the foundation of Jesus, finding your liberty and salvation in Him and seeking no other god or fool's gold.
In the Perilous Times series of work, the last of days as spoken about in 2 Timothy 3 is closely explored and dissected. Apostle Paul writes about the last days that will be perilous, and we are certainly living in such a time. It will offer a great opportunity for the Church to fulfil the Great Commission, but it will also be a time of great danger and threats. Perilous denotes something which holds danger, thus there are things that will happen in the last of days that will pose a danger unto believers, but at the same time, believers must also avoid such pitfalls lest they become perilous (a danger) to others. Perilous also speaks of great stress and trouble. These are indeed the days of great strife, apostasy, and deception, and more than ever holding one to faith and God's truth has become of paramount importance.
It is time for the Church to wake up and wake up fast! The world is slipping into spiritual darkness, and this is a very slippery slope yet it seems the spiritual watchmen - the believers in the Lord - are not raising an alarm on the hills. We are dangerously ignoring Ezekiel 33 which speaks of the watchmen who should be alert to the dangers that come against the Truth. This is the same danger that is threatening to envelop the Church from the inside, for the insidious nature of the enemy's strategy and plots to steal and deceive is going on unchecked. The spiritual realm is more real than the natural and the principalities and authorities of darkness have one plan which is to draw the world - Christian alike - into its web and snare. It is like a huge spider waiting and waiting and waiting and it waves its magic like the Sirens of Greek Mythology. For once caught in this world, drawn by intrigue and by the allure of innocence and excitement, then the trap is sprung and getting out becomes more and more difficult. The enemy is real and he is very active. And in this time as spiritual darkness descends on the world, we need to shine the light of Christ to pierce the blackness of deception and enslavement!

The second novel in the Christian end times series, Perilous Times. During the first three and a half years, the new world leader emerges and reorganizes the countries of the world into ten provinces and remakes its economy. Then disasters begin occurring as predicted in the Bible. The first trumpet announces hail and fire mixed with blood, which kills 1/3 of plant life. The second announces a great mountain, an asteroid, burning with fire from space that's hurled into the sea and kills 1/3 of ocean life. The third is a comet that turns 1/3 of the waters bitter. The fourth extinguishes 1/3 of the light from the sun, moon, and the stars. The fifth, those that aren't sealed by God are harmed by demon possessed "locusts." The sixth, world war three occurs. The seventh, will be in the next novel, the next three and a half years. As they deal with this, the Emperor has to put up with two witnesses who show up in Jerusalem, preaching the Gospel, and warning of the beast and the false prophet. As the Emperor deals with the disasters, the witnesses, and the Jews in Israel, the world moves closer to the middle of the Tribulation, where the Emperor's life will change and the judgments begin to ramp up.
There is a fire on the mountain. It is a wildfire of apostasy tearing through the church, fuelled by idolatry. It is because of the winds of false doctrine that this wildfire keeps spreading, and it has been causing massive damage for hundreds of years to the church. Yet the fire is not being checked, addressed, or effectively extinguished by believers. The fire of apostasy has been receiving plenty of fuel for the last 1800 or so years to be a raging inferno. Yes, there is a profane fire burning on the altars build on the spiritual high places. An increasing level of idolatry and spiritual apostasy plagues the world and the church. The fire of idolatry has swept through churches for a long time, consuming and destroying. It is the profane fire. An unholy fire. Who shall contain the fire? It is time for the church to earnestly address idolatry in her midst, for idolatry is an abomination in the eyes of God. God alone shall be worshipped. He should be our highest devotion and our heart's desire above all. Idolatry is not a trivial matter, as Israel discovered. God is calling for concerted and real action from the church to address idolatry, for our God is a jealous God, and He is an all-consuming fire. He must be our First Love, nothing else, and certainly no one else, including the self.
