Based on in-depth interviews with Indigenous artists from Australia, Alaska and Hawaii, this book explores how they deliver unique, dynamic forms of leadership to their communities. Taking a critical perspective on the intersection of leadership and identity, this book reveals the complex dilemma at the heart of leadership practice. It conceptualises the connection between individuals¿ identities and their practice of leadership as a set of territories that we navigate in order to do the work of leadership. This highly original study will be of interest to scholars in leadership, as well as arts management and indigenous studies.
This book is a timely exploration in light of the heightened requirement of business for novel solutions to meet the varied economic, ethical and social challenges organisations face, related to fast paced technological developments, increasing global market competition and associated environmental impacts and cultural inequality concerns.
