Welcome to your consciousness workbook for our ten new planets, written without any jargon, in a way that anyone without any astrological knowledge can enjoy and benefit from. Beautifully illustrated with meditative images for each planet created by astrologer Karen La Puma, this book invites you to embark on the adventure of embracing these new aspects of consciousness in your life!In the scientific worldview of contemporary Western culture, we tend to think that the stars can't really affect us, and that astrology is something akin to magic or a belief system. This assumes we live in a stable world and the planets are merely bits of rock flying around us in space. The truth is that we live in a dynamic system, and we are influenced by the rhythms of that system. We're on a spinning planet revolving around the Sun, along with all the other planets of our solar system, thanks to the gravitational forces and dynamics of those planets. Neither magic, nor a belief system, astrology is a social science, recording the psychology and behavior of people over the eons, as referenced to the dynamic system in which we live: and that is the only way we measure and record anything. A year is one cycle around the Sun, a day is one revolution of the Earth. So, over the eons astrologers noticed that we generally sleep at night and go to work during the day. We go out and party on the full moon and stay home and plant gardens on the new moon. That we struggle to make decisions when Mercury, the planet of ideas, seems to be going backwards in the sky. And when Saturn, the planet of responsibility, returns to his birth position when we're about age 29, we all go through a 'What am I doing with my life?' reality check. Our personal consciousness develops within the collective consciousness around us, and we see this mapped out in the personal planets in our chart. These are the planets out to Saturn that are visible to the naked eye, and they talk about facets of our personality that are important in living day to day.The inner planets represent aspects of personality, and the outer planets represent aspects of consciousness. So, as each new outer planet is discovered, it represents a new aspect of consciousness that is becoming available to us. Over the last 200 years, we've discovered three new planets. The discovery of Uranus brought us intuitive consciousness, the discovery of Neptune, spiritual consciousness, and the discovery of Pluto, psychological consciousness. Then, since the turn of the 21st century, we've discovered another ten planets: Ixion, Orcus, Salacia, Varuna, Haumea, Quaoar, Makemake, Gonggong, Eris, and Sedna. The discovery of so many new outer planets at one time represents a feast of new consciousness that is now available to us. The enlightenment that until now was only available to select gurus and priests after years of devout work, is now open to everyone. We see these esoteric outer energies manifesting most clearly in our lives through their house placement, so the book includes house interpretations for each planet, and, to bring these to life, they are all illustrated with examples of well known people. The book also includes instructions on how to discover where your new planets are in a simple way online, and a basic astrology section for those who are new to the field. In our research at the Dwarf Planet University, it has been amazing to see how, by simply making these new aspects conscious, students become empowered and their lives are transformed. We need to engage with these new consciousness energies to take them out of the unconscious area of action. To enable this, the book includes consciousness exercises for each planet, so we can on-board their energy in our lives. As we do, we will become empowered, and our lives will be transformed.
This is the second of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University. Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Makemake manifests in our daily lives with example case studies. There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Makemake in context. Many astrologers believe that new planets are discovered when we are ready to incorporate the new consciousness represented by that planet into our existing consciousness. We've noticed this with the discovery of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto over the last two hundred years, and now with the discovery of ten more planets we're entering a period of rapid consciousness development. When our consciousness is focussed on the inner planets, everything that is important is our feelings, our ideas and values, our agency and the luck and material rewards that these bring us. "You can't take it with you, right?" And at this level we tend not to be conscious of the action of the outer planets in our lives. The inner planets represent aspects of personality, while the outer planets represent aspects of consciousness. As each new outer planet is discovered, it represents a new aspect of consciousness that is becoming available to us. The discovery of Uranus brought us intuitive consciousness, the discovery of Neptune, spiritual consciousness, and the discovery of Pluto, psychological consciousness. So, the discovery of Makemake represents a new aspect of consciousness that we can now uncover in ourselves. Put simply, Makemake takes the intuitive understanding of Uranus and turns it into a rich contextual understanding, into a wisdom or a cosmic consciousness. However, this new consciousness doesn't kick in automatically, rather we must actively incorporate it into our lives. And because these outer planets talk of consciousness, how they manifest in our lives depends on our current level of consciousness. Most people on the planet experience the outer planets as unconscious influences, where these esoteric new energies are only perceived when, like Pluto, they barge into our lives in a confrontational way, because we haven't been sensitive and adaptable in the lead up. As we develop spiritually, however, and consciously on-board these new energies into our lives, they become like guides into new territory, offering us special skills or challenges, depending on the aspects in our chart. At this level, rather than unconscious influences, the outer planets become like a new super-consciousness.
This is the first of a series of textbooks on the astrology of the new dwarf planets, based on the research at the Dwarf Planet University. Probably the most valuable section is the house interpretations, looking at how Haumea manifests in our daily lives with example case studies. There is also a workbook to locate and on-board this new energy in your chart. And a section introducing each of the dwarf planets to put Haumea in context. Many astrologers believe that new planets are discovered when we are ready to incorporate the new consciousness represented by that planet into our existing consciousness. So, as each new outer planet is discovered, it represents a new aspect of consciousness that is coming available to us. The discovery of Uranus brought us intuitive consciousness, the discovery of Neptune, spiritual consciousness, and the discovery of Pluto, psychological consciousness. So, the discovery of Haumea represents a new aspect of consciousness that is becoming available to us. Put simply Haumea takes the psychic opening of Neptune and turns it into real psychic connection with the oneness of our existence, with the magic of being alive. Discover the evolutionary spiritual power of Sedna, the new esoteric outer limit of our solar system and learn of the profound implications for society and for each of us individually in the coming years, as she approaches her closest point to Earth. When a new Solar System body is discovered, clues to the astrological meaning comes primarily from studying the planet in a large number of charts to find common themes. This book is an attempt to do this for Sedna. Drawing on two years of research using hundreds of charts, New Zealand astrologer Alan Clay, calls it 'the soul's path of destiny'.Many astrologers believe that each new planet discovered represents a new aspect or level of consciousness that humanity starts to embrace from that moment and, if this is true, Sedna represents the weird new outer limit of our consciousness which is stretching our concepts of reality and is pulling us to look at ourselves as part of the very big picture. To understand Sedna, the book also looks at the physical characteristics of the planet, at the myth behind the name and at past cycles, finding a connection with the Ice Age cycle and with evolutionary changes on Earth. We also look at discovery events in 2003 and find a link with the emergence of neural networks, which is the basis for Artificial Intelligence and we find a link with Dark Energy and Dark Matter, which together make up 95% of the world around us.We take a look at Sedna in the signs and the houses and, in the last section, we look at Sedna in aspect with all the inner planets so you can begin to interpret this evolutionary planet in your own life. The book includes a comprehensive aspect analysis with all the traditional planets, plus all the dwarf planets including: Ceres, Pluto, Ixion, Orcus, Makemake, Haumea, Varuna, Quaoar and Eris.Alan draws the connection between Sedna and the centaur, Pholus, because they both have a 'space weathering' process that turns the surface of each red, so they both have to do with growth and illumination. And he links it with Ceres, because they both likely have internal oceans, so they both speak of a nurturing process. And with Saturn, because their daily rate of spin is the same, so they have the same day to day practical perspective and both speak of limits.
