Based on the analysis of a computer corpus of speech data, this study looks at the interaction between intonation and discourse analysis. It is suitable for those work mainly on spoken language but would like to take more account of intonation in their analyses.

This text explores the application of corpora to language teaching, aiming to show teachers and students how to create materials using corpora and how to develop their own corpora.
