This book offers an ethnographic examination of the young people who serve voluntarily at a juvenile diversion program and adds thick description of young people¿s experiences learning about crime, delinquency, justice, and law.

The chapters cover topics such as: water pollution, access to fresh water in the Global North and Global South, water and climate change, the commodification of water and privatization, water security and pacification, and activism and resistance surrounding issues of access and pollution.

This book explores how young people perceive the severity of crime and delinquency. In so doing, it offers thick description of young peoples' conceptions of and experiences with crime, delinquency, justice and law, and uses this description to interrogate the role of the state in influencing - indeed, shaping - these perceptions.
