Lee Duffy was the hardest man in Middlesbrough and was a man feared by many. Bullied as a kid, Duffy later found himself in the same youth offenders unit as one of the bullies and he beat them up and tormented them without mercy. This book contains first- hand accounts from those who knew Duffy and wished to share their memories of him, whether in a flattering or unflattering way. There are accounts from people who knew Duffy because they had worked the doors with him and witnessed the many fights he had with drunks and doormen alike, and accounts from people who had hung around him and were privy to his inner thoughts. There are also accounts from those who knew Duffy as a bare-knuckle fighter and knew of his immense dislike for fellow hard man and street-fighting legend Paul Sykes, and there are accounts from those who knew Duffy because of his drug dealing activities, which involved taxing and relieving drug dealers of their ill-gotten gains and being targeted by underworld hitmen as a consequence. Lee Duffy is now gone but not forgotten as the stories detailed in this book will tell you.
