Children often hold onto more things than we realize, and these traumatic experiences tend to shape more than just the child's responses to triggers. It is a complete brain alteration, often bringing one's own sanity into question. How can the world be kind when we know it to be so cruel? Why is it that we were the ones subjected to cruelty?
