Witch trials in Sweden were relatively rare compared with the rest of Europe. Although Sweden wasn't the only country with children having acted as accusers, Swedish children and their pastors had the distinction of driving the trials of the "e;Big Noise"e; between 1668 and 1676. Judges, among the most famous men in the realm, were appointed to a Witchcraft Commission by regents of the young King Karl XI. The trials were held in each community. The trial in Mora was widely publicized and reached all the way to Salem and the ears of Cotton Mather.
