In January 1978, Suzette Haden Elgin founded the Science Fiction Poetry Association, along with its two visible cornerposts: the association's newsletter, Star*Line, and the Rhysling Awards. Nominees for the 2016 Rhysling Award are selected by the membership of the Science Fiction Poetry Association. Each member is allowed to nominate one work in each of two categories: "Best Long Poem" and "Best Short Poem". All nominated works must have been published during 2015. The anthology allows the members to easily review and consider all nominated works without the necessity of obtaining the diverse number of publications in which the nominated works first appeared and serves as a showcase of the best science fiction, fantasy, and horror poetry of 2015. The Rhysling Anthology is available to anyone with an interest in this unique compilation of verse from some of the finest poets in the field of science fiction, fantasy, and horror poetry.

  • - The African American Experience: A Chronology
    av Charles Christian
    396,-

Black Saga: The African American Experience presents the people, places, and events that have shaped the culture and identity of Blacks in the United States. From the African kingdoms that thrived in the days before Columbus to the struggles that continue today, Black Saga's panoramic scope offers a vivid, definitive picture of this rich and complex history. More than a chronology of dates and events, Black Saga interweaves the histories of famous figures with those of unsung heroes. Here are the stories of escaped slaves Ellen and William Craft, California pioneer and entrepreneur Biddy Mason, inventor and businessman Jan Matzeliger, and civil rights activist Hannah Atkins. With more than 230 illustrations - many of them rare - Black Saga also provides information on key issues and accomplishments, Black elected officials from Reconstruction to the present, Black-owned businesses and news papers, and Black musicians, athletes, and recipients of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
