Das Geld, das ich aus den Beeren erlöse, verschafft ihr doch wieder eine kleine Erquickung!¿Gegen Abend ging sie, mit ihrem Körbchen voll Beeren am Arme, durch den Wald nach Hause. Es fing an zu regnen. Immer lauter rauschten die Regentropfen in den Blättern der Bäume, und aus der Ferne her donnerte es sehr stark. Als sie aus dem Walde heraus kam, erhob sich ein Sturmwind; ein heftiger Platzregen schlug ihr entgegen, und an dem glühendrothen Abendhimmel standen dunkle Gewitterwolken, wie Gebirge auf einander gethürmt. Sie suchte sich, fern von den hohen Bäumen, unter niedrigen Haselstauden ein sicheres Plätzchen, stand hier unter, und wartete, bis das Gewitter vorüber wäre.
