    Inhaltsangabe:Einleitung: ?Berufstätigkeit von Frauen ist sicherlich mittlerweile kein Thema mehr, das von der Mehrheit der Gesellschaft kontrovers diskutiert würde. Im Gegenteil: Ein einfaches Gedankenexperiment kann am ehesten verdeutlichen, wie fest Frauen in das Gefüge der Arbeitswelt integriert sind. Man stelle sich vor, die Frau würde per Dekret aus der Arbeitswelt verbannt: Wirtschaft und Verwaltung, alle Sektoren der Arbeitswelt brächen zusammen. Man führe das Gedankenexperiment weiter: Ein anderes Dekret verbannte die Frau aus Führungspositionen. Ein Teil der LeserInnen wird sagen, dies sei durchaus kein Experiment, sondern praktizierte Realität, nur eben ohne explizites Dekret.?. In den letzten Jahren wurde in der Gesellschaft, in der Politik und in den Unternehmen verstärkt über das Thema ?Frauen im Management? diskutiert. Denn der Einstieg in eine Führungsposition und der berufliche Aufstieg innerhalb eines Unternehmens sind für Frauen zwar keine Unmöglichkeit mehr, aber eine Selbstverständlichkeit wie für Männer sind beide noch lange nicht. Gang der Untersuchung: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich deshalb sowohl mit der Entwicklung und der derzeitigen Situation von Frauen in Führungspositionen als auch mit den Gründen, die Frauen am Eintritt in die Führungsetagen hindern. Zur Überwindung der Barrieren sollen im Kapitel "Fördermaßnahmen" Lösungsmöglichkeiten angeboten sowie Förderprogramme von fünf deutschen Unternehmen vorgestellt werden. Desweiteren beschreibt ein Kapitel das Führungsverhalten von Frauen und untersucht, inwieweit sich dieses von den Männern unterscheidet, inwieweit es sich mit den Anforderungen in der Wirtschaft vereinbaren läßt und ob die Zweifel an den Fähigkeiten von Frauen berechtigt sind. Da die Managementliteratur sich häufig auf die Entwicklungen in den USA bezieht, soll sich der erste Teil auf die Geschichte und die jetzige Lage der amerikanischen Managerinnen beziehen, bevor auf die Entwicklung und Situation der deutschen Führungsfrauen eingegangen wird. Die historische Betrachtung der beiden Kulturen soll Aufschlüsse über die Vergleichbarkeit und Übertragbarkeit der Daten liefern. In den darauf folgenden Kapiteln wird der Schwerpunkt auf Deutschland gelegt.
