Who is Jon Ryan? He's a fighter pilot and astronaut tasked with saving humankind from the imminent destruction of Earth. With the planet Jupiter knocked off its orbit, humankind has less than a century to find a new home. Jon becomes the first volunteer for Project Ark, a desperate mission to search the galaxy for a suitable location for human resettlement. But first, he must have his consciousness transferred into an experimental android host. Our fate and his life depend on a new machine built under a lowest-price-technically-acceptable government contract. Sheesh, what could go wrong?Jon's only companion on his epic voyage will be his ship's AI, Al. Unfortunately Al turns out to be more like a cantankerous spouse than a helpful computer program. Along the way, Jon encounters alien civilizations and must learn the dark art of diplomacy to convince them to help Jon in his quest. But mostly, he has to run for his life. Fortunately, Jon has three things in his favor: he's incredibly lucky, fearless, and so cocky you just want to shake his hand.As Jon pushes the limits of human technology and his own psychological strength, he must overcome one final challenge: saving our species. Can he succeed, or will he become the sole survivor, lost in space forever? And is the galaxy ready for Jon? Not one chance! Poor aliens. You almost have to feel sorry for them.If you're a fan of BV Larson's Undying Mercenaries Series or Craig Alanson's Expeditionary Force, then you'll love The Forever Life.
