  • - What Went Wrong and How Can We Fix It?

Back in November 2010, I had the opportunity to visit Israel. One of the places we stopped was Tabgha, on the north-west shore of the Sea of Galilee, where Jesus prepared breakfast for his disciples, and where He 'reinstated' Peter. As I leaned up against the rock plateau on which Peter and Jesus likely sat side-by-side, I felt as though I heard Jesus whispering those same words to me, "David, feed my lambs. Take care of my sheep. Feed my sheep."If I fail to believe God's Word, if I fail to instruct, if I fail to lead and encourage, then I have failed this call miserably. As I was thinking about writing this book, I had no qualms about poking the proverbial hornets' nest. I knew many of the answers would be contentious, but I also knew they had to be stated. This is not a book that needs to be liked. It is a book that discusses a deadly problem and its cause, that is the division in the church, and it clearly lays out the [drastic] corrective remedies needed.Almost from the outset of the COVID epidemic, a clear divide has ruptured many church communities but, I want to emphasize from the outset that COVID is not the cause of the problem, it is merely a symptom of a much, much deeper problem.

Finally! A book for the corporate newbie that sheds light on the strange and mysterious world of Corporate America…Often the difference between the hot-shot "brand builders" who rise to corporate success and the "brand burners" who crash and burn early in their careers is seldom about intelligence or even hard work. That would be too straightforward.Corporate survival and ultimate success are more often about who understands the Unwritten Rules of Corporate America. Who knows- How to play the game properly? What stupid mistakes to avoid? When to raise their hand at the right time and in the right way to claim that shining, brand-building opportunity? With 70+ years of combined corporate experience, Harrison and Heart share their stories of success and failure in order for the rest of us-corporate newbies and anyone who could use a primer on corporate culture-to best navigate around the common pitfalls and stumbling blocks of the early corporate years.

This book explores the role of expectations within the modern capitalist system. Through looking at how they are formed and develop, the impact of events that lead to a collapse in expectations, such as a major financial crisis, is examined to highlight the precarious and unstable nature of the economic system. With a particular focus on the UK and USA, it is also considered how public policy and institutions can shift the balance away from speculation and back towards enterprise. This book aims to conceptualise instability and highlight how economic and regulatory policy can limit it. It will be relevant to researchers and policymakers interested in economic policy and regulatory reform.
