This book is a memoir of my life growing up in a new immigrant family. My parents left Guyana, South America in 1962 with all of the hopes and dreams that most new immigrants have. Hoping to transfer his career as a Senior Customs Officer from Guyana to Canada, my Father ran into a major and unexpected obstacle in the fulfillment of this dream. Our family struggled to survive in our new country. After sixteen years of trying to make ends meet, we were finally recovering from the shock of immigration only to meet grief, loss and tragedy as a result of suicide. As I reflected on my childhood in these memoirs, I could see the working of God in my life even as I began my own family. God was with me in the valley of loss and grief. He gave me hope. He was faithful. He turned my mourning into joy. This is a story of His faithfulness in a little girl's life.
