And so, specific lineages are included in special report form. When first beginning research to find her family's history, Diana sought out the descendants of the Simon family in the St. Louis area to learn that the place they came from had something to do with 'swans.' She later learned that they came from Swanden, in the Canton of Glarus in Switzerland. Then through her great-grandfathers obituary in Davenport, Iowa, she was able to place the Millers/Moellers in Schoenberg, Schleswig-Holstein.The Hansens and the Carstensens were just as influential as the Carstensens were the "Kings Royal Forest Rangers." Enjoy the journey as you learn how they came to Davenport, Iowa from Schoenberg on the edge of the Baltic Sea in Germany (where they were fishermen) and the Alps of Switzerland (where they were of Jewish faith) to the small village of Cordova, on the banks of the muddy Mississippi after the Civil War.More than 40 generations, the families reach back to 860 A.D. and include medieval rulers of Europe.

After more than 20 years of research, the author was finally able to pull together more than 70,000 descendants of William Morss (b. in the 1600s) and his wife Elizabeth. By tracking the descendants of Anthony Morse of Essex County, MA she can identify more than 70,000 descendants. Many of these lines had been lost to history, including a more recent one of Joseph Willis Morse, whose son founded the precursor to the magazine "Vanity Fair" in Atlantic City. His son had '9' sons, each with large families of their own, none of whom were listed in the traditional histories. And so the search began.. Volume 2 will include the story of Hugo Von Mors, the descendant of a noble Flanders family and a Knights Templar.

The LeGere family originally came from the Dijon and Normandy areas of France; descendants of the Merovingian kings and lords of the surrounding region. Arriving in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia in the middle 1600s, the family quickly assimilated to the wildness of Nova Scotia. Jacques dit Larosset Leger arrived as part of the French contingent, ready to conquer and settle in "New France." Some of the Legere men married native American women; one of whom was a daughter of Henri Membertou, the first Mic'Mac native to be baptized by the French priests at the age of 103 and the leader of the Mic'Mac nation. When the French were expelled from Acadia, many went south to the United States, even to Louisiana. The ancestors of Henry Joseph Legere of South Dakota married into Italian, Austrian, and Russian families, giving them a diverse background of experience and talents. Descendants of the Merovingian kings, the Legere family is spread across the Americas, adding to the American fabric.

Fifty generations traces the Robinson family of Bath Co., Kentucky back to the hills where Druids roamed in ancient Wales and Londonium. Surnames such as Robinson, Walpole, Sexton, Hunt, Tincher, Lowe, Ishmael, White, McGlothin, Staton, Plank, and Burk dominate the landscape. At least five different Weems men settled on Long Cane Creek in Abbeville County, South Carolina before the Revolutionary War. Even today there are Weems living in Abbeville County, both white and black. For years, genealogists have been confused about who is the son of whom, but land records make it clear that '4' men; Thomas (Eleanor) Weems, Redfearn Weems, Thomas (and Elizabeth) Weems, and Henry Weems all were granted land on Long Cane Creek. While the county lines have changed dramatically over the years, Long Cane Creek remained a constant. It was here that thousands of Weems descendants, both black and white, call home.Today, DNA evidence is slowly dividing the different Weems children into family groups. Included here, are the descendants of each of those identified children; regardless of who their parent(s) was.
