This book begins with why I had to leave Ukraine and come to the USA. It compares two private research universities, the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and the Illinois Institute of Technology. Brooklyn Poly disappeared as a university because it treated its students poorly, while IIT is doing fine. At IIT we had many excellent PhD students described in this book. IIT had an advantage over other universities by having research institutes on campus. It attracted many excellent PhD students paid for by IITRI. They worked on weapons development mainly, such as how to shoot down missiles. They had a large contract during President Reagan time. When this ended suddenly IITRI disappeared and IIT got much poorer. Seven appendices in this book describe problems of current interest. They are 1.Deepwater Horizen oil spill2. Kinetic theory of blood flow3. Infrastructure4.Improved Keynes theory5.White Evangelicals6. Timeshare in Mexico7.Climate Change
This book concerns the most up-to-date advances in computational transport phenomena (CTP), an emerging tool for the design of gas-solid processes such as fluidized bed systems.
Suitable for research engineers in industry, graduate students and professors teaching a first course in computational techniques, this book illustrates how the code as well as the commercial codes can be used for the design of green energy technology processes.
