A Revival of Joy!Using the language and stories of former alcoholics transformed by Jesus Christ, Don Wilkerson makes a contrast between drinking "high" of drugs and the experience with the Most High God. Using Apostle Paul's admonition to "not be drunk with wine, wherein is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18), Don makes a similar contrast between joy in the Lord and the false euphoria of the addict and alcoholic. There is also possible scientific evidence that if the brain waves of someone on cocaine were compared with someone joyful in the Lord, the latter would show a "peace that passes all understanding."Don Wilkerson shares twelve chapters based on the real-life experiences of addicts finding supernatural answers to their addiction. These stories are sometimes humourous, but nevertheless real. It is hoped you will find the reading of this book a joyful experience. There is an important message here for those needing freedom from addiction, as well as encouragement for those in recovery. Read this and then share with someone else and spread joy where needed.

Moses, David, Joseph, Peter, Paul...these are just some of the well-known names of the Bible. They are the subject of countless sermons and stories that have inspired Bible lessons from childhood to adulthood. But Scripture also contains a supporting cast of ordinary men and women often overlooked in Bible study. These lesser-known characters deserve accolades for their contribution to God's redemptive story. In a three-part series, Don Wilkerson shares the impact of those less known in the Bible, both named and unnamed. These not-so-familiar characters are brought to life in short but thought-provoking chapters with lessons that remind us that God often uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways to build His kingdom. For those seeking discipleship material for personal growth, The Impact of Ordinary People will aid individual and small group Bible study. This three-part series is also a helpful resource for pastors and Christian leaders to develop unique and one-of-a-kind sermons.

Ordinary Women, Extraordinary GodIn book two of Don Wilkerson's series The Impact of Ordinary People, the names listed in each chapter are not well-known women of the Bible. But that's the theme of this unique devotional. Adah, Bilhah, Jehosheba, and Huldah are just some of the ordinary women who accomplished extraordinary things for the glory of God. Scripture contains a supporting cast of men and women often overlooked in Bible study. This devotional brings thirty lesser-known women to life with short but thought-provoking lessons. Each woman deserves attention for her significant impact, but it's God's redemption story that is highlighted and woven through the lives of these ordinary women. For those seeking discipleship material for personal growth, this book will aid individual and small group Bible study. This devotional is also a helpful resource for pastors and Christian leaders to develop biblical lessons or one-of a-kind sermons."The Impact of Ordinary People details the lives of obscure Bible characters with a significant impact on biblical history. These inspiring stories of women-- viewed from a modern twist--will encourage you to keep reading. Don't miss it!"--ANNA RAMOS, PHD, LICENSED MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELOR (LMHC)"'Some of our women amazed us, ' exclaimed a Jesus follower to a stranger on the road to Emmaus (Luke 24:22, NIV). This was spoken before his spiritual eyes were opened to see the Lord. Don Wilkerson has opened our eyes to see and hear amazing voices of lesser-known women of the Bible. Many of them you will meet for the first time, learning the ways of God and how He has been speaking through women since the beginning of time. Read, learn, and enjoy this book."--KAY ZELLO, BIBLE TEACHER, CONFERENCE SPEAKER"I was fascinated as I read through the stories of these lesser-known women in the Bible. Rizpah, Huldah, and Vashti are my favorite enlightening examples. As I devoured this encouraging devotional, I saw the intentional hand of God woven throughout history by His precious daughters being used for His glory. I was especially delighted to see Jael featured in this book! Our daughter's middle name is Jael, as we love the story of Jael's great courage. If you are a treasure seeker, then you'll want to discover the other hidden gems of women like Jael in the Bible. But don't take the word of this ordinary woman; read it for yourself and be built up in your faith today."--MARIAH NOELLE FREEMAN, AUTHOR, FROM HEROIN TO HEAVEN

Teen Challenge, also known as Adult and Teen Challenge, was founded as an evangelistic outreach to drug addicts in Brooklyn, New York City. As a holistic Christian ministry with the life-changing message of the gospel, this faith-based rehabilitation program was created with the vision that God can redeem the whole person, starting on day one of the program. This unique approach has produced success rates of over 70% for those who complete the rehabilitation program. However, as Teen Challenge has grown worldwide, with over 1,400+ centers in 129 countries, some centers are now turning to secular methods in order to access government funding. As co-founder of Teen Challenge, Don Wilkerson raises a warning flag on this mission drift: the power of the Cross, which brings about a changed life, must be the priority in treating drug addiction; if the Cross is not central to the mission of any Teen Challenge center, then it is not worthy of using the name "Teen Challenge." The ministry must never lose its vision and focus in bringing men and women to Christ--through the gospel and discipleship--and stay faithful to the original mission which the founders stood upon.
