The Younger Brother is a non-violent medieval novel, set in the Anglo-Saxon days of old England. Apsley, the young adopted prince, is trying to find his family. His country is torn by civil strife alongside Anglia facing war with its neighbors. Apsley tries his best to hold his country together.

This is the story of two women, Lilly Wust and Felice Schragenheim, who met and fell in love during the war years in Nazi Germany. The story is based on interviews with Lilly, now 80 years old, and with friends and acquaintances of the couple.
