This is a story about friends that meet, and form a bond that leads to love and loyalty as their families grow in unity. It began in 1948. Lex and Brad became friends when they discovered similar interests of patriotism and airplanes while they are seniors in high school; Lex was a mechanic in the Air National Guard, and Brad was a clerk in the Marine Air Corps reserves in Birmingham. The bond was sealed when they joined the Air Force, and spent eighteen months together in Germany before returning home.Lynn and Ann met in Talladega high school with similar interests in nursing; they grew closer when they became roommates while student nurses in St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham. The bond grows unbreakable during their emotional dating, romancing, heartbreaks, double wedding, family gatherings, and flying.
This is the story of my life since the 1930's. The Great Depression had an economic effect on everyone, but the actions of the young toward others didn't change. There were those that made fun of another with a speech impediment, the clothes they wore, or call them names like "Bird legs", "Fats", or other derogatory terms.Even today, that will continue during the adolescent years. But one must learn how to overcome, and PERSEVERE through ridicule, adversities, disappointments, and difficult times. It's up to the individual to recognize the importance of an education and make decisions early in life that can lead to success or failure. Opportunities are available for everyone that uses their talents to reach their goal.
