I recently wrote a series of columns and very short stories about a variety of subjects but noticed I had a preponderance, about fifty, that concerned romance, and that they fit into one of four categories - dating, swingers, issues, and breakups. For additional insights I recruited a dozen longer tales about adventurous men and women from my broad short story collection The Bold Investor. The new love-focused volume is titled Tales of Romance and examines entertaining but stressful problems about people merely doing what nature mandates. They seek love or companionship on dating websites and meet at work or on the phone or even at the Southern border. They date or marry and they quarrel with each other or former spouses unwilling to step aside. They tire of each other and seek intimacy wherever and however they can find it. They break up and reconcile and divorce and they do so in ways reasonable and outrageous. That's how it is in romance. This is a revised edition.

Goodreads - 4.00 on 7 Ratings and 2 Reviews In lucid prose George Thomas Clark recalls the challenges of growing up in a family beset by divorce, depression, and alcoholism, and the compensatory joys of playing basketball and other sports.Though academically promising, Clark loses discipline as his drinking and substance abuse worsen and he drops out of college to write and support himself by menial labor and other unpromising endeavors. The author vividly portrays experiences from romance to travel to psychiatric care and a belated return to college that leads to a career teaching English as a Second Language for adults. He also continues to write, and Autobiography of George Thomas Clark is his fourteenth book.

Lee, Babe Ruth, Joseph Stalin, the Ayatollah Khomeini, and General Douglas MacArthur. There are no filters as Trump blunders the nation and world toward a nuclear confrontation with North Korea, a war with Iran, backs out of international agreements, wages psychological war again people of color in the United States, and bungles containment of the coronavirus. Buckle your seatbelts for a turbulent ride.
In a rousing trip through the worlds of Basketball and Football, George Thomas Clark explores the professional basketball league in Mexico, the Herculean talents of Wilt Chamberlain, the difficulties and humor of attempting to play basketball in middle age, and observes that coaching at Caltech can be more painful than studying all night for a physics exam. We also peer into the minds of legends LeBron James, Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, John Wooden, Adolph Rupp, and numerous others. On the gridiron Clark reveals the talent and tragedy of Donald Rogers, an All American at UCLA and a star for the Cleveland Browns, the challenges of attending a Seahawks game in Seattle, the thoughts of brilliant but tormented Bill Walsh, the glory and horror of O.J. Simpson, major college football players being exploited by the NCAA and university bureaucrats, the rise and fall of the USC Trojans, issues of alcoholism, substance abuse, and domestic violence, and more.Half the stories are straight nonfiction and others are literary fiction or satirical pieces guided by the unwavering hand of an inspired storyteller.

Determined to learn more about those who fate did not favor, I toured tattered, handmade refuges of those without homes and also interviewed them on the streets and in homeless shelters, and conversed with the poor in the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, and Spain, and on occasion wrote composite stories to illuminate their difficult lives.Where Will We Sleep? is a revised edition focusing on poverty and homelessness.
