Nada the Lily is unusual for a Victorian novel in that its entire cast of characters is South African and Chaka was a real king of the Zulus but Umslopogaas was discovered by Haggard. It's about Zulu Kings and the Nada in the title is the most beautiful of the Zulu woman and is loved by the son of the great king Chaka. It's got everything, adventure and a sad ending.
