Melvin, a rundown, aged, undernourished Quarter Horse gelding was dumped at auction when his owner no longer wanted him. He was purchased from auction by a horse dealer who leased the horses to summer camps and he was chosen by a summer camp horsemanship director to be used at camp one summer.
