This book "" Illuminated Manuscripts in Classical and Mediaeval Times; Their Art and their Technique "", has been considered important throughout the human history, and so that this work is never forgotten we have made efforts in its preservation by republishing this book in a modern format for present and future generations. Published in 1892, Middleton's catalogue describes the extensive collection of engraved gems and rings at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Middleton, who was a Professor of Fine Art, describes how these ancient gems were acquired, and outlines how they both exemplify important Greek sculpture and illustrate ancient myths and rituals.
