Arion of the Orchid House is a Fae of the High Court; a royal, and shares his place with the Kings of the Fae, Cronos and Nyx. He could have anything or anyone he wanted, but what he finds himself drawn to instead is a human who comes to the edge of the woods every day, and reads. The Reading Man, Arion calls him. Arion wants him, but unfortunately, the Reading Man does not believe in Fairies or magic. Because of their laws, the Reading Man is deemed unworthy to bask in the gifts of the Fae, and Arion is unable to show himself to the object of his desires. Determination and Unrequited Love outmatch his common sense Arion ignores tradition in favour of shifting the Reading Man's beliefs and earning his love, instead of stealing it.
