This project highlights problems that secondary school physical education (P.E) teachers encounter when interpreting national curriculums and educational models. Seven areas of sport are identified and their inclusion within lessons is examined. These are: Physical, technical, tactical, cognitive, creative, personal and social. This book analyses video data from a total of 435 minutes (7 hours) of P.E lessons in a secondary school. This analysis was then compared to questionnaires completed by the teachers testing their ability to recall the lesson. A new model is proposed based on the projects findings and observed behaviours. Certain areas of sport appear to be deemed more important, or are taught more frequently than others. Future research may wish to develop models that are more understandable and useful for teachers. The analysis of the questionnaires demonstrates fundamental flaws with short term memory and therefore other self-evaluation and reflection methods are suggested. This book will appeal to people interested in secondary school teaching, especially within P.E, and professionals interested in how short term memory can limit self- evaluation.
