Jorge Navarro was born in Santa Barbara, Mexico and grew up in extreme poverty with an abusive father. In a family of sixteen children, there was seldom enough food or clothing to go around, inviting ridicule from classmates who called Jorge a "poor and dirty boy." Jorge hated his life. By the time he left middle school, he began drinking and taking pills to avoid the pain. Although his loving mother worked extra jobs to send him to high school, Jorge's addictions to alcohol and drugs had taken control of his life. After failing out of school, Jorge became a husband and father at a young age. His life of drugs continued to spiral downward until he eventually became a homeless vagrant living on the streets of Mexico, hopeless and nearly out of his mind. Feeling that he was powerless to change his ways, Jorge wanted to end his misery by taking his own life. Without money or knowing English, Jorge walked to the United States. He was picked up as a day laborer by a Christian man who took him into his family home and offered him an opportunity for a new life. This led to Jorge's amazing journey of faith in Jesus Christ. By the power of God's Spirit, Jorge was able to overcome years of addiction and transform in to a new man, who owns a successful business and shares the good news of salvation to anyone he can. You will be inspired by Jorge's bold obedience to God's calling and the miraculous ways God led him and provided for him all the way. You will be challenged by the example of generosity of the many believers who helped him. It is a fascinating story of near-death experiences, divine rescues, miraculous provisions, spiritual warfare, and great hope in God's power to reach those who are lost. Jorge Navarro now lives in Lansing, Michigan with his wife, Francesca. He actively serves in two churches. He also leads a vibrant home church and has served as the Hispanic Chaplain to the Lansing Lugnuts baseball team for over fifteen years. Jorge has travelled the country to share his testimony and has led many people to Christ, urging them not to put off God's gift of salvation until tomorrow. Today is the day!
