Sculptor Vonnie Sharpe's flatmate Gina is carjacked during a bank robbery. Vonnie tracks down the robber, who says he left Gina in her car. From here the trail twists and turns until a ransom note arrives and the kidnappers want Vonnie to deliver the money. In financial and emotional despair, Suzanne returns to live with her mother. Instead of finding peace of mind however, her already complicated life becomes even more chaotic. A rocky relationship with her foster son Luka, a one-night stand and having to handle her mother's boyfriend doesn't help.

"Bruises" was a joint winner of the 1994 Verity Bargate award and "The Shorewatchers' House" was premiered at the end of 1995 at a new theatre in Kentish Town.
