A 'gospel harmony' is a private compilation of gospels. - The writer of a gospel harmony is like a disc-jockey who presents undistorted music fragments: he chooses his own order of presentation, which may differ from the composer's, but the music fragments themselves are unaltered. Intercalated quotes of the Old Testament prophesy the events described in the selected gospel fragment. Readers unacquainted with prophecies are usually disappointed: "Is this supposed to be a prophecy?" Conceded: Prophets never wrote, "- Then and there, the Messiah will do this and that." Worse, in most cases they wrote neither when, nor where, nor who. So what did they write? A treatise on that subject requires at least as many pages as covered by the prophecies themselves. Hence, the idea of this gospel harmony is to simply present those prophecies, and let the reader infer how they 'work', guided by many explanatory footnotes and nine appendices. -The latter deal with academic difficulties in typical Christian catechesis. In judging messianic prophecies, one should consider them all together. In any book, one can find a sentence that can be interpreted messianically. Finding two such sentences is more difficult. Finding hundreds of them, in a single book as is the Old Testament: - That defies all rules of statistics. Messianic prophecies have traditionally been difficult to understand. In Jesus' time, the only people who at times understood them were Scribes and Pharisees. The first reason for the enigmatic character of prophecies is the profound chasm between triumphant and ignominious ones: In some prophecies, the Messiah appears as a triumphant King, whose reign lasts forever; while in others, he appears like someone profoundly ridiculed and despised. -The second reason is related to the nature of the Messiah: Is he an ordinary human being, who suffers at the hand of his enemies and delights in friendship; or is he God, who decides on heaven and hell? A third reason is related to the authors: Most of the prophets were lone wolves, at least quite molested, and sometimes even executed for blasphemy. Are these the kind of witnesses, whose credentials one would praise? -The only exceptions are Moses and David; but Elijah, for example, had to fight against hundreds of unanimous prophets allied against him. It is quite miraculous in itself that the writings of just these prophets ended up in the Jewish biblical canon. Of all puzzles, the biblical prophecies have a special charm, which will soon captivate the reader.
This book explains the nine fundamental discoveries of the 20th century, to wit (i) the "Big Bang" (cosmology); (ii) the origin of life (biology); (iii) the origin of human intelligence (genetics); (iv) the universal claim of fundamental rights (human behavior); (v) the origin of a US parasite larger than the US (economy); (vi) the origin of quantum choices (Bell's equations of quantum mechanics); (vii) the solution to Schrödinger Cat measurement problem (quantum hylemorphism); (viii) Gödel's proof of an inherent limitation of all mathematical constructs (number theory); (ix) the cheap museum science of Michael Tite (proof of the supernatural origin of the Holy Shroud). In this booklet the author explains to what extent these basic discoveries are in line with millennia old Catholic dogmas, and to what extent they are in opposition to present day Deism.
This booklet contains four chapters, which treat ingenuousness on an individual, professional, institutional, and collective level. The latter is also known as misguided patriotism. All these levels have in common that the people involved do not at all understand why the outsiders consider their views as ingenuous (naive). The key point I make in this book is that the largest danger for a country's future is an abundance of misguided patriots. In order to make "good patriots", as they obviously think of themselves, reconsider their deeply rooted world view, the booklet starts out at showing the insanity of adoring certain patriotic heroes. To begin with my own country, all Dutch heroes we have are pirates with an all but exemplary lifestyle (this holds for Spain and England, too). France has Napoleon. Spain has Philip II. Germany has Hitler. Please mind, I am writing about misguided patriotism. This is usually an extremely tiny percentage of the whole population. Yet, the message of this book is meant for all good patriots (that is, the large majority), not for the few misguided ones. The only people who can read this book are profoundly humble people, who do not get emotional when reading my many non-coinciding, unconventional, and sometimes hurting opinions.
Until the 1950's, the percentage of abused children was medieval (the lowest in any known culture) and constant, as such were the causes, too:Stepfather, teacher, and pedophile family friend. Since the 1980's, the increase of broken marriages ended this constancy. As the male victims of sexual abuse have a much higher probability of becoming child abusers themselves, the very rate of increase started increasing. Finally, since the 1960's, homosexuality grew popular, which created a cozy habitat for pedophiles. In our millennium, a completely new trend has appeared:Abused girls, who give birth in their freemasonic prisons, provide the babies needed for ritual sacrifices.
