A timely, coming-of-age story of reconnection to culture and acceptance of identity.Jason is forced to cope with the sudden and life changing events that have befallen him. His family is gone, and he and is sister are now in foster care. He is forced to leave behind his loved ones and relocate to an unfamiliar city with a new family. He discovers that his entire life has been a lie - he is an Indigenous man. This revelation triggers an identity crisis that sends him spiralling out of control. Luckily, Jason encounters Ms. Minowa, a teacher who runs an Indigenous program at his new high school. She offers to assist him in learning about his newfound identity. Through her guidance, Jason begins to reconnect with his Indigenous roots and understand the significance of being Indigenous. He gains insight into the intergenerational trauma that has affected Indigenous communities and finds his place in the world.
