This book attempts to explain the factors that may be at the origin of the conflict situation in the African Great Lakes region. The case study was the territory of Uvira, Fizi and Mwenga where Rwandophones live. But this issue also affects the whole region. This justifies the enlargement of our field of study. The choice of the territory of Uvira, Fizi and Mwenga can be explained by the fact that the Rwandophones known as Banyamulenge, who have taken up arms against the government and the Congolese population, identify themselves as originating from this territory. Using semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, data was collected from sixteen individuals. The analysis of the results showed that there are several factors that come into play to suggest a practical solution to these conflicts, which appear to be ethnic but are in fact not. After the wars that have plunged this part of the DR Congo into mourning, these communities in conflict live in almost total mistrust and look at each other with a glare. The re-establishment of a bond of trust would be desirable.

Questo libro cerca di spiegare i fattori che possono essere all'origine della situazione di conflitto nella regione africana dei Grandi Laghi. Il caso di studio è il territorio di Uvira, Fizi e Mwenga, dove vivono i ruandofoni. Ma la questione riguarda anche l'intera regione. Ciò giustifica l'allargamento del nostro campo di studio. La scelta del territorio di Uvira, Fizi e Mwenga si spiega con il fatto che i ruandofoni conosciuti come Banyamulenge, che hanno preso le armi contro il governo e la popolazione congolese, si identificano come originari di questo territorio. Utilizzando interviste semi-strutturate e questionari, sono stati raccolti dati da sedici persone. Dall'analisi dei risultati è emerso che sono diversi i fattori che entrano in gioco per suggerire una soluzione pratica a questi conflitti, che sembrano essere etnici ma in realtà non lo sono. Dopo le guerre che hanno gettato nel lutto questa parte della Repubblica Democratica del Congo, queste comunità in conflitto vivono in una sfiducia quasi totale e si guardano l'un l'altra con un occhio di riguardo. Sarebbe auspicabile ristabilire un legame di fiducia.
