This book is a selection of competition entries from the Pacuare Poetry Competition 2015, dedicated to the topic of the boundaries, or lack of them, between the human and the natural. Never has this subject been more crucial to explore, and in an unprecedented way this book brings poets and conservation together to do so. The Pacuare Nature Reserve is a conservation project in Costa Rica, initially developed to protect the endangered Leatherback turtle, and now devoted to a wide range of activities, particularly scientific research and environmental education. The poets in this anthology are from across the world, and each brings a different and beautiful perspective on what it means to be a human in, and of, nature. The winner of the competition was Saradha Soobrayen, and the runners up were Drew Milne, Emily Critchley, and Ian McEwen.
