Philpott does not suggest that the voices many hear are in fact evil spirits, but he does indicate that such may be potential, and this based on years of experience and research. It is not uncommon for voices to disappear once demons are cast out, Philpott discovered over nearly four decades or work with those troubled by spirits. He approaches the subject with some trepidation, but considered it too important a discussion, considering the large numbers of people who do hear voices, and who are often quite hesitant to speak of it.
