A shipwreck off the Inner Hebrides. The quest to recover lost jewellery. Four generations tormented. In 1817 a titled lady and her parure are lost at sea off the island of Islay. By chance crofter Hugh Ferguson finds the brooch and necklet of the parure. While Hugh and his wife think the find will provide their children with a legacy, in reality it dogs the lives and loves of four generations of the family from Scotland to England and beyond. Jan Cooke who was instrumental in encouraging this novel to be written had this to say after reading an early draft - "What can I say - you have excelled yourself! I started reading and couldn't stop! You have told the story skilfully and woven the facts beautifully within the fiction."
