I was inspired to write this book due to the injustices, inequalities and inequities in the great nation of America. History has proven that it is a fact that these injustices do exist. In the years 2017-2022, it has been prevalent throughout the nation and still exists to this day. Racism and hatred are at an all-time high and the country has been divided by toxic rhetoric and politics. It seems like "We the People" can't agree on anything. Also, the overwhelming grief I felt over the loss of my two children. As a Christian, I can't understand those that claim to be Christians participating in the hatred. Those that claim to be "Christ-like" but are hating those that disagree with their political beliefs. It caused me to ask the question "What's going on?" I named the book "The Fallen Petals" because people are dying every day because of hate. Linda Lawson was born in Blairs, Virginia in 1953 on a tobacco farm. Her family moved from Virginia to New Jersey in 1958 in the dead of winter with no place to go. Linda's father sought work in Pedericktown on a farm. Her family then moved to Mullica Hill, and Linda lived there until she graduated high school in 1972 and married that same year. To that union, six children were born but Linda is the mother of eight. The Bible says, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but God delivers them out of them all." Linda was inspired to write this book because of the awful things that were happening in our great nation starting in 2017. Linda's website is www.hearttopaper.com

They’re from different backgrounds. At first, they lived normal lives just like any other youth, until one day their lives were disrupted and turned upside down. Not only were their lives turned upside down, it also affected their entire community. The story is a thriller which is full of suspense, mystery, and drama. Come take this journey with them and find out what the outcome of their story will be. Linda Lawson started writing in 1996. She was inspired to journal because of her dark past as a child. The first book she wrote was “A Brighter Day”, then “The Adventures of Bertha and Me” which were both autobiographies. Linda is an overcomer of so many horrific things. She did not allow her past to dictate her future because she was determined to make it. That’s what determination will do for you, if you pursue you dreams. Linda’s latest book, “The Frying Pan” is her first fiction and she must say that it is fascinating, riveting, thrilling, full of mystery and a good read.

This is a true story about two young girls that grew up on a farm. They became best friends even when the odds were against them. One seemed to have it all and the other one was very poor, but that did not matter to either of them. When she befriended the poor girl, it made an impact on her life for the rest of her life. Their friendship gave them the determination to achieve their goals. This book is very inspiring, uplifting and also adventurous. Their friendship was challenged by others because of their race. Their friendship endured, overcame all challenges and lasted a lifetime.

My name is Linda Lawson, I was born with the name of Linder Laverne Kizee on June 27, 1953 in Blairs Virginia to an uneducated sharecropper and housewife.  We were dirt poor and lived off the land.  I had four brothers and two sisters.  In 1958, we abruptly left Virginia and moved to New Jersey with nothing but the clothes on our backs.  For years I''ve searched for the answer to this mystery, but to no avail.  It took a lot of strength and courage to endure life''s hardships and difficult circumstances.  Life has been like a rocky roller coaster ride, with its unexpected turns, bumps, ups and downs.  Through life''s experiences, I found out that life is what you make of it.  You can either bear down beneath the load or you can stand up, fight and be a survivor.  That''s exactly what I chose to do - fight! When I was six years old I connected with God and He never left me.  He was with me through the hard times, the dysfunction and life''s lows.  Even though my family was dysfunctional, I decided that I would be different.   I learned that you can be born into dysfunction, but you don''t have to become it. My faith in God gave me the courage to fight and win.
