A metaphysical narrative with an intrigued, mysterious and lonely man who has a conversation raising many questions about his existence. He is convinced he has been alienated from his origin. He realises he doesn't know where he is and how he ended up in this society. The answers about how to gain back his own identity are hidden from him in the competitive society where he finds himself. His queries bring him the conclusion that he is in a quest to save himself as long he doesn't forget his true identity, but he can not do it alone and he knows it; he has to confront the reality that has been rejecting him. In his pursuit to not forget his true identity he risks to end up forever on his own, fragmented and invisible in his community, but he is determined to continuously defy society and not give up memories hidden in himself until he finds his true home. MEMORIES OF A BROKEN GOD is a philosophical and psychological fiction investigating what it means to be alive. Readers who like the mystery in THE THIRD POLICEMAN and the conflict in THE TRUMAN SHOW will enjoy the short but rich narrative in this story.
A collection of short essays the photographer Márcio Faustino Santos wrote in the past 7 years. The subjects range from personal experiences, philosophy, psychology, religion, politics and art. He offers his point of view and thoughts as a way of self expression as an artist, with the psychological conflict between the desire to fit in society as well as feeling apart from it. Márcio Faustino Santos tries to find the essential that makes us humans and, at the same time, he tries to find the essential that makes him a photographer, a writer or simply an artist.
