This is an Art Book. A collection of oil paintings and drawings by Michelle Moraczewski. The paintings in this collection cover the period between 2010 and 2022. Art is a language of imagery so the paintings speak for themselves. I am not an art critic or art historian, so I decided to accompany the paintings with poetry from my collection. The poems are often narrative and extremely visual. As such are word pictures. Although both are Moraczewski's work they are not meant to match necessarily.Having traveled to Italy and as such Italy appears in both the paintings and poems. There are so many paintings of Italy in fact, that subject could be its own book.

Nature and Life are the catalyst for inspired narrative poems of people, memory, and incantation. In her first collection spanning several decades, the work reflects the daily magic of the ordinary. She discusses her transition from painting to poetry: "Words found their way in a rhythm with the waves, something new that couldn't be captured with painted color. Something in the timeless nature of poetry. It linked memory with the present and the unsung future of possibility."Moraczewski's ongoing fascination with the universe, math, and music inform a broad range of conversation. Hopefully others may find joy and humor evident in these reflections. Resonance with the universal Christian philosophy enlighten her writing journey.

HEADWATERS is the first book in THE RANCH CHRONICLES. The story continues in THE FORGOTTEN TRIBE.Headwaters tells of Mariah and David's adventure in the Texas Hill country. In a world of pristine beauty, pure water, and forgotten canyons, mysteries lie hidden. Two rivers run from two sources and merge below a bluff. This high point is home to an ancient burial mound deep in the Texas Hill Country. We follow Mariah's transcendent journey on these,19,000 wild Texas acres. The tragedy that threatens to end David and Mariah's family visits forever, dovetails with eminent world changes on the horizon. Author note: "The power of the land led me to write THE RANCH CHRONICLES, I grew up in Texas, my summers spent on a 19,000-acre ranch on the headwaters of the Nueces River. The land has power, which I wanted to voice. The characters are unified by their passion for the land which is a universal thread that unites all humans regardless of race or religion. I believe it takes a leap to live on the edge." Readers have total immersion vicariously with both Headwaters and The Forgotten Tribe.
