In his tenth work, researcher N. Riley Heagerty delves into the life of Etta Wriedt, one of the great American Direct Voice mediums of the "Heyday of Spiritualism" during the late nineteenth to early twentieth century. In Wriedt's presence, voices of deceased communicators manifested in the room that didn't emanate from her or the sitters. They communicated in numerous languages (sometimes at the same time), including Dutch, French, German, Hebrew, Hindustani, and Italian, whereas Wriedt only spoke English, or what one investigator called "Yankee."Scientists and investigators such as Sir Oliver Lodge, Sir William Barrett, William T. Stead and Vice-Admiral Osborne Moore all witnessed the phenomena on multiple occasions, as did other luminaries of the day who went to great efforts to rule out trickery and sleight of hand before becoming convinced of her abilities. "The stories of life within this incalculably valuable book can only strengthen the realization that our loved ones are never very far away, but closer than we could ever imagine." ~ August, Goforth, author, The Risen: Dialogues of Love, Grief, & Survival Beyond Death."Once again N. Riley Heagerty has gifted the world with breath-taking research. The evidence contained in this book will remove any last lingering doubts you may have about the glorious reunions with our loved ones that await us." ~ Victor and Wendy Zammit, authors, A Lawyer Presents the Evidence for the Afterlife.
Prepare yourself again for the mind-staggering eyewitness accounts of some of the greatest mediums who manifested spirit phenomena within the astounding records of Historic Spiritualism. To the average individual, these are events so marvelous that it will surpass belief-and yet they are not only true, but validated by the positively unimpeachable character of the eye-witnesses. Compiled by historian N. Riley Heagerty, this is the second volume in the series.Rock solid, empirical evidence of séance room events which have been swept under the carpet of denial for 150 years are now made available for those discerning individuals, interested in life after death and spirit return, can read for themselves of the glorious manifestations, the beauty and the sheer heart stomping drama produced within the Heyday of Spiritualism.
Elizabeth Blake was one of Early America's greatest physical spiritual mediums, demonstrating her gift in the tiny hamlet of Bradrick, Ohio chiefly between the years 1860 to 1920. Mrs. Blake worked non-stop for nearly sixty years, and sat for more than 200,000 people in that time. With the exception of her night circles which she held usually when requested, she sat in broad daylight, along with one of the most unique characteristics of her séances, using a double-sided, lightweight metal tube or "trumpet." Through painstaking research, the noted spiritualist historian N. Riley Heagerty has pieced back together much of the mysterious puzzle of Mrs. Blake, practically lost in time. This plain, assuming woman talked with those on the "Other Side", freely giving of her time to help the grief-stricken reconnect and converse with loved ones, long thought lost forever.
