Seasons change, time passes, but God's Word stands constant. We can take comfort in knowing we have a Father who remains faithful and consistent. I love the seasons, especially winter. Living in South Florida, I intentionally leave during the colder months for vacation and time to enjoy the seasonal change. The snow is beautiful. Thousands of crystallized flakes frost the ground and windows offering delightful shimmers of colorful light through the sun's rays--so did the women in the Bible. Like snowflakes flowing onto the pages of time, each woman offered her own cascade of colorful light for all to read. Each testimony speaks to us, whether we are encouraged, laughing, crying, serving, learning, or teaching, the women of the Bible are immeasurable. They offer relatable life lessons and treasured pasts, like books for us to comb through and examine. May you enjoy the next 30 days of spiritual growth with the women of the Bible.
Forgiveness is a process, but it hurts. A deep gash has opened a wound on our heart. The pain from something or someone has scarred our spirit and left a wounded mark never to be forgotten. As with any abrasion, recovery is a long and agonizing process. Although the deep cut isn't physical the effects permeate every fiber of our being. It feels physical. The pain is real, but the hurt is emotional, mental, and spiritual. Painful experiences are a part of life. Wounds from words, arguments, relationships, lies, and flared emotions are difficult to heal from. Christians are not immune from the devastating effects of arguments or broken relationships. We hold our most prized possession in our hands - our hearts. We give individuals the opportunity to love and tenderly cultivate friendships and relationships. Our identity is vulnerable; our innermost thoughts exposed. Then the unthinkable happens - a painful word, argument, or situation. Here lies our choice. Do we forgive or do we hold onto unforgiveness?
