Human life is not only dependent on nature but also imagining, comparing and creating things as it exists in nature. What he has found and finds in nature is rhapsodic that one reads a lot of metaphors, and similes in literature. Although human beings are blessed with intelligence and the sixth sense, whatever man sees in nature is more beautiful and powerful than what he invents or creates. Thus nature serves as a source of human imagination and invention and man cannot refrain from glorifying it in life and literature. Ancient literature has described the wild life also. But the development of science and technology has gradually shrunk the space of nature.Meadows and pastures have disappeared; forests have receded, and rivers have dried out. The waterfalls have thinned to nothing. Ponds with flowers like lotus and fishes have been swallowed. The concrete structures have conquered all these marvellous creations of nature. The hazardous chemicals have been mixed in water, water resources, and soil. It has also risen up to cause pollution in air and atmosphere in the form of fumes, smokes and gases. When it has become a threat to human life man has started talking about environmental pollution. It has its impacts in literature also. The writers have started to write about nature oriented and environment related impacts of human action.The present day literature branches out in different genres. Writers focus on ecological themes dealing with the harm done to the environment and polluting the elements of nature. These themes deal with the environmental damage caused by human beings and its impact as a reverse action in human life and all other living beings. Writers have also taken a step forward to observe the changing climatic conditions which deprive the possibilities of living in the already civilised places and regions. It has opened a new avenue of literature and criticism that alludes tochanging climate fiction and criticism and global warming. Before discussing the subject of climate and climate fiction it is necessary to study the history of climate which geologists and scientists have researched.
