A Christian ministry strives to help Indian people struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction and gender dysphoria. Like in other countries where it resides, the ministry experiences opposition from both the secular society and religious community. Its directors have been harassed, poisoned, and even killed in violent ways. Even so, Christians offer healing through the message of faith, hope, and love. Consequently, lives can be changed for the better!
Tim's Gain, the Devil's Loss, is the third novel using the similar wording. There was the first novel entitled Vance's Gain, the Devil's Loss, and the second novel entitled, Brian's Gain and the Devil's Loss. All three novels depicted the downward spiral of the men as they tried to live in a lifestyle against their physical, genetical, and spiritual makeup. God created them to be fully men attracted to the opposite sex. However, through traumatic circumstances they got sidelined. Tim Richards' involvement with the Gay Enforcers involved attempts on his life, when he tried to disassociate himself from them. He, or any member, was not permitted to leave that militant organization. Even after attempts on his life, he still managed to withstand God's graces. It was ironic that he should be involved with such a destructive group that almost killed his mother, Sheryl, who had an active part in the Father's Touch International Ministry. He learned along the way that there were aspects of the gay lifestyle that was not all fun and games. Loneliness, violence, confusion, and diseases were very much in play. One could only wonder how God would intervene in Tim's life before the Gay Enforcers killed him.
To China with Faith and Love tells the story of God's love for the Chinese people, while knowing they are being oppressed by the Chinese Communist Party. He uses the Father's Touch Ministry to reach out to people struggling with unwanted same sex attraction and gender confusion. Though a small ministry, the Father's Touch Ministry has a lot of experience behind it as it expands throughout the U.S.A., some parts of Europe, Russia, Mexico, South America, and even Israel. The Ministry faces opposition from the Gay Enforcers organization and other people opposed to seeing individuals reaffirming their biological gender identity and religious values. There have been incidences of harassment and violence. Members of the leadership are in hiding to protect their families, as other staff members are vulnerable to attack. The novel offers hope and optimism in the midst of danger and tragedy. But God is still in control!
The Father's Touch Ministry's entrance into Russia represented a great sacrifice on the part of its members. Learning a new language and adapting to the Russian culture demanded a lot of energy, patience, finances, and physical endurance. The staff members made every effort to avoid being perceived as puppets of the Russian government. They kept their focus on ministering to people willing to come to their center, and participating in the program of fellowship, Bible study and prayer. But at the same time, they had to look out for danger from the militant members of the LGBT community, as well as, the agents of the Gay Enforcers, a militant group from the United States. The novel describes the personal lives of the central characters, who had families to raise under stressful conditions. Some had been harassed, injured, and even killed by the agents of G&E. This kind of a ministry is not for cowards. But just the same, God sustains their faith!
The seventh novel reflects the intense rivalry between the Father's Touch Ministry and the Gay Enforcers. The gay militant organization continued to harass, threaten, and attempted to kill members of the Christian ministry. There were incidences when even the relatives of the leaders of the Ministry were attacked. But in spit of it all, the Ministry expanded in Europe and North America. It even received an invitation from Russia to set up its centers. Meanwhile the Gay Enforcers became more violent in its methods against Christian ministries, and against its own agents. It employed more sadistic and satanic methods of punishment for individuals it deemed its enemy. Without God's intervention, more deaths would have resulted. Fortunately some of the main characters fell in love and got married. Even Reverend Jerry Gilligan, a gay priest, found his heterosexual soulmate. All things are possible with God!
This sixth novel in the series about the Father's Touch Ministry illustrates the costs of trying to help people with unwanted same-sex attraction and gender confusion. The ministry continues to grow in spite of the opposition from militant pro-gay groups, especially the Gay Enforcers. There continues to be incidents involving harassment and violence. In spite of it all, the people who frequent the centers and safe houses are changed for the better. Focusing on the spiritual aspects of addictions can result in changed lives. The Gordons, Formosos, Halls, and Father Gilligan continue to play a vital role in keeping the ministry moving forward. In the midst of tragedy, love still blossoms for some of them. And it is still a mystery why the staff members remain so committed to the ministry and its divine purpose, while serving in the inner cities and other challenging locations.
This novel continues the story of the Gordon Family and the Father''s Touch Ministry. As the Ministry expands within the borders of the USA it encounters more opposition from all kinds of groups. Somehow helping men and women with sexual issues, especially unwanted same sex attraction, is seen as controversial and undesirable by people with vested interests. The Ministry''s emphasis is on pursuing holiness through praying, studying the Bible, and fellowshipping. Anyone experiencing more complex personality disorders are referred to the medical authorities. In essence, the Father''s Touch''s Ministry seeks to provide moral and spiritual support for those struggling with a variety of sexual and spiritual problems. Unfortunately, the Gay Enforcers, an extremely militant group, sees the Ministry as a threat and will do anything to destroy it.
Many people struggle with more than one issue at a time. Whether it involves heterosexuality or homosexuality, one may find elements of mental illness, drugs, or moral confusion. The human situation can be very tragic for millions of individuals, including those struggling with unwanted same-sex attraction, transgenderism, and pedophilia. Just as psychology and the medical field try to help. So too, do people who believe in a higher power and spirituality. In this novel a group of Christians have a formed a ministry called the Father''s Touch Ministry, which is designed to communicate God''s love for those experiencing shattered lives. Through encouragement, groups meetings, and the study of the Scriptures, lives are improved and even changed. However, the ministry does face opposition from the secular world and even from some Christian quarters. By reading this novel one will gain some insight into the gay world and those who are willing to help others disenchanted with it.
Some churches are reluctant to deal with issues involving heterosexuality or homosexuality. Perhaps their ministers and leadership do not have the necessary training needed to relate to people struggling with sexual issues especially involving homosexuality, transgenderism and pedophilia. This novel illustrates what happens when a Christian ministry tries to help individuals with these problems. In the course of doing so there is the risk of harassment, injury or death.Through prayer, group support and the studying of the Bible many individuals can change or modify their self perception and their behaviors. If anyone requires mental health specialization, then he or she is referred to the medical professionals. Otherwise, there still continues to be a spiritual component to overcoming one's unwanted same sex attraction or gender confusion.
Seemingly America is full of young people who are confused about their gender identity and sexual orientation. Our main character is a veteran of the Iraq War, who is dealing with his PTSD and his own sexual issues. He''s in conflict with his family values and the American culture as it is evolving today. In his frustration he got deeply involved in the gay world of drugs, orgies, and risky behaviors. Along the way his conscience weighed heavily upon him. His contact with the Father''s Home Ministry impacted the decisions he had to make to restore himself to his true identity and sanity. The results remain to be seen!
All kinds of theories are floating around accounting for people''s sexual orientation. Whether it is directed toward men, women, children or a combination. The main character demonstrates that people do modify their attitudes and behaviors depending on the stressors in their lives. In our modern times when seniors are living longer, we shouldn''t be surprised if they become more sexually active with the help of pills, needles and operations. Vance Gordon came to the point that an immoral sex life became more important to him than his Christian faith. But then God got his attention!
