Destiny - is it Mayberry or Middle Earth? To say I was having a bad day would be like saying Katrina dropped a little rain on the Gulf Coast. I'm Tempest Pomeroy and my human job is delivering the mail in Destiny, Louisiana. I've lived most of my life in denial of my heritage, pretending to be a mere-mortal. But change is coming and all the alpha males in my world are acting strange, making the mutual attraction I feel for my newest customer suspect. Just today, my brother's Djinni bottle went missing and I stumbled over a dead body in the clubhouse while rescuing said bottle from a locker. The new sheriff is investigating but he won't be a problem for long. He thought he'd settled in a normal small town to raise his teenage daughter. Like "Mayberry". When he finds out the truth, he'll be on the first plane out of "Middle Earth". Things better settle down soon 'cause I'm about to go Storm Crazy.
Strap in, 'cause it's a wild ride through Destiny, or should I say Middle Earth…Five months ago, Sheriff Jack Lang would have sworn there were no such things vampires, tempestaeries, djinn or dragons. That was before he met Tempest Pomeroy, trouble magnet and sexy redheaded mail lady. He'd fallen for her before he found out about her "special abilities". But that wasn't what turned his life upside down. No, to say Jack's world had gone FUBAR would be like saying Wolverine's fingernails were long enough for a manicure.Tempe had feared her supernatural nature would be a problem for Jack, who thought he'd become sheriff of a quaint Mayberry-ish small town, but that didn't explain why he abandoned her in favor of haunting the highest levees in the parish. She knew he'd received a shock, but what was it going to take to get him to return to her and his old life? A stubborn man is one thing; a grumpy, depressed twenty-ton dragon is a bit more of a challenge.Take These Broken Wings is Book 5 in the Destiny Paramortals, a southern urban fantasy paranormal cozy and the completion of Jack and Tempe's coming of age arc, with an epiphany of sorts, but the story continues…
