I created my Interesting Answers website a few years back as a place to concisely answer those bizarre and random questions that pop into your head throughout the day that aren't important enough to write down and research later. For example:-Is there an Old Zealand?-How many people live in Antarctica?-Do insects get fat?-How many songs did Elvis Presley record?-Was Colonel Sanders a real military colonel?-Why can't I tickle myself?-Who is General Tso and why is chicken named after him?....and over 100 other interesting questions and answers! The answers to these fun questions and random trivia is what makes up this book. I'm a very curious person and strange random questions like these constantly pop into my head while I'm driving, showering, etc. Since they weren't questions that affect my life, I never would get the answers to them. One day, I finally decided to start making a note of these strange random questions and document my findings on Interesting Answers. The website and this book are safe for all ages!I got annoyed with the answers I found on other websites because they would spend so much time not answering the question just to increase the amount of time people spend on their web page. I took a different approach. My entire goal was to answer the question as concisely as possible and give just a little bit of background information for context purposes but not get too wordy. If you want long-winded answers, this is not the book for you. If you want a book that gets to the point while still providing context and background information, then this IS the book for you. If you are a trivia buff, this is the book for you! If you have a friend that is a trivia buff, this book would make a great gift! If you want an interesting coffee table or bathroom reader, this is the book for you! :)I updated my site for a few years and now have nearly 200 questions. This book will be the first volume. If this book sells enough, I will put together a second volume in the coming months. Hopefully, you have as much fun reading the answers to these bizarre questions as I did discovering them.
My name is Ryan, and I grew up in the Houston, Texas area in the 80s. I used to love Sunday morning 'Mid-South Wresting' on the TV on the weekends. This book is full of old-school 1970s and 1980s newspaper advertisements and clippings from the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment, (WWF/WWE), National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), Mid-South Wrestling (MSW), Georgia Championship Wrestling (GCW), Continental Wrestling Association (CWA), World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW), American Championship Wrestling (ACW), Universal Wrestling Federation (UWF), Stampede Wrestling, and many more.I used to look forward to getting my parent's newspaper and looking through the sports section for these wrestling advertisements and clippings. I would get so excited when I would see certain wrestlers were coming to the Sam Houston Coliseum in downtown Houston. I didn't always go to the events, but it was always cool to know my wrestling heroes were coming into town. When visiting my grandparents in Alexandria, Louisiana, I would also open the newspaper there, looking for these clippings and wrestling articles. I filed many of them away in a scrapbook that I used to have, but it has all been lost over the years. However, with the internet, I've been able to not only get clippings from Houston but also able to find them from all over the country. That is what is in this book. It's great for fans of wrestling history and even wrestling historians.I've acquired these images from different places over the years. Most were taken from newspapers.com, but I was also able to get a ton of these clippings from newsgroups, Twitter, random blogs, etc. I love the nostalgia of it all, and it brings back so many good memories.I imagine this book being an interesting coffee table reader or a conversation starter for old-school professional wrestling fans. If this book sells enough copies, I have enough clippings for a Volume 2 and would be happy to create that. I have some other ideas for future books as well. It all depends on how this goes.A ton of hours have gone into curating these clippings, so hopefully, you find all of this as entertaining and nostalgic as I do. I'd love to know what you think.
