The essays are wide-ranging, including flora, fauna, forests, insects, birdsong, meteorology, geology, gastronomy, archeology, anthropology, history, technology and land use, with a little twist of humor thrown in. Each chapter is lavishly illustrated with original watercolors by her artist companion Michael Samoya.
